Whoever sent Manny Ramirez to the Albuquerque Isotopes to finish up his 50-game MLB suspension is a genius. Forget the outrage and just consider how cool it would be to rack on some AAA baseball for a team named after “The Simpsons” ball team. Not only that, the poor denizens of Albuquerque have something to enjoy for once… and they must really need it–the team has already sold more than 40,000 tickets for Manny’s debut in a 4-game series against the Nashville Sounds.

Of course, Manny won’t know where he is and probably unintentionally insult Albuquerque (man I love typing that name!), but watching him play in a league that’s more in line with his stoned-out pace could be fun. At the worst, Manny could pull out an additional 50-game suspension in the AAA league and end up doing peewee baseball in Montana… and then probably kill himself.
