Manny Ramirez, the L.A. Dodgers’ dread-headed stepchild, pulled off a dramatic pinch-hit grand slam last night against the Cincinnati Reds. The game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when manager Joe Torre called for a pinch-hitter. A stunned Manny–who was sitting the game out due to being hit in the hand by a pitch the previous night–stumbled for his bat and came up empty handed. That’s when the light-headed slugger looked into his hands for inspiration and found it in burbling and smoking form. Good glass, indeed!
